SENIOR INTERIOR ARCHITECT
Boutique NYC Architectural and Interior Design Firm specializing in corporate / workplace interiors seeking senior level architect / designer to join our team
Candidates should have a professional degree in architecture from an accredited program and 10 years experience in commercial design, exhibit strong design and organizational skills, and be able to contribute to a fast-paced, creative office.
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Project Lead / Project Manager for all phases (schematic design through construction administration) of small, medium, and large-scale corporate projects;
- Coordinating with clients, consultants, and design principals
- Design and presentation drawings;
- Construction detailing and drawings;
- Construction observation and administration;
- Manage and oversee junior architects and designers
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Knowledge of workplace strategies
- Knowledge of IBC Building Codes | ADA
- Prepare and review of construction documents
- Lead & Manage Junior Architects
- Space Planning / Test Fitting
- Coordination of permit process
- Construction administration, including meeting with contractors, clients, consultants, etc
- File and track all incoming documentation from other consultants
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture;
- 10 + years of experience in commercial architecture
- Registered Architect a plus however not required
- Demonstrated knowledge of the design process, products, materials and construction details
- Knowledge of project constructability, project costs, and building code requirements
- Proficiency in AutoCAD , Adobe Photoshop & Indesign, and SketchUp and/or Revit
- Located in New York City, and ability to travel outside of the New York area on a regular basis
